I was born in Alameda, CA - it's a little island in the San Francisco Bay. That's probably why I love crab and french bread so much. I moved to Peoria, IL - also called the "Heart of Illinois." Now, I think it must be referring to the very center of the state, not where all the cool people hang out... There were a lot of things I hated about Illinois, like the corn fields... Love the corn, hate the fields. I hated the humidity. You'd need another shower the second you step out the door! I also hated the school system. My mom homeschooled us after years and years of begging.
But there were also a lot of special things about it. I loved how my mom could grow an absolutely amazing garden in our backyard. It was the best place for a kid to grow up - we had secret passages through the jungle-like daisies and other flowers that I can't pronounce the names of. There was a pond for our koi and Swamp the turtle. I liked our lilies and the waterfall. I loved how there were parks and green grass. I loved bar-b-ques and neighborhood parties. I loved Tanner's Apple Orchard. You could go pick apples and get lost in the trees. Everything there was homemade. I loved their cider and their jams. Mmmmm.
When I was twelve, we moved to Colorado so we could ski a lot! I must say that it was one of the best decisions ever. I wanted to learn how to play piano, so we searched high and low for the perfect piano teacher. Finally we found her. I was 14 when I started piano lessons with Nancy - it's been fun ever since! Now I am majoring in Music Therapy with a concentration in piano at Arizona State University. Never thought I'd end up there, but that's just the way it went. I have just completed my first semester there, but since I was a transfer student, I will be starting my junior year in August.
I love life. I just want to enjoy it, savoring every moment. Of course, it takes a very talented person to savor every moment of their life, but I am aspiring to be like that. I really love making friends - and I love keeping them even more! I hope this journal will help me to remember some really great things and make me laugh! I don't promise everything in my journal to be interesting to every reader, so read at the risk of being bored - but I'll try to make it interesting!
